Smooche began as a small studio with one mission: to redefine how the world sees cosmetics. That includes making payment simple, secure, and transparent.


1. Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods through our trusted, encrypted payment processors:

Digital Wallets

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Shop Pay

Other Options

All payments are processed securely via Stripe, PayPal, or Shopify Payments — we never store your full card details on our servers.


2. Currency & Pricing

All prices on smooche.us are displayed in United States Dollars (USD $).

We do not charge any additional payment processing fees. The price you see at checkout is what you pay (plus applicable sales tax — see Section 3 below).


3. Sales Tax

Because our studio is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, we are required to collect sales tax on orders shipped to Michigan addresses and certain other US states where we have economic nexus.

Sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address. You will see the exact tax amount before completing your purchase.


4. Payment Security

We take your financial security seriously:

  • All transactions are encrypted using SSL/TLS technology

  • We are PCI DSS compliant (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)

  • Our payment partners (Stripe, PayPal) use fraud detection and tokenization

If you ever feel uncomfortable entering payment info, you are welcome to contact us for alternative arrangements.


5. Failed or Declined Payments

If your payment is declined:

  1. Double-check your card details and available funds

  2. Try a different payment method

  3. Contact your bank or card issuer — sometimes they flag small studios as fraud by mistake

If the issue persists, email us at support@smooche.us and we will help.

We will never retry a failed payment without your permission.


6. Pre-Orders & Subscriptions

Pre-orders:
If you pre-order a product, your payment method will be charged immediately to reserve your item, not at the time of shipment. You will receive updates on estimated shipping dates.

Subscriptions (if offered in the future):
We will clearly disclose recurring billing terms before you subscribe. You may cancel anytime.

(Currently, Smooche does not offer subscription billing — but this section is here for transparency.)


7. Payment & Order Confirmation

After you complete payment:

  • You will see an on-screen confirmation

  • You will receive an order confirmation email within 5 minutes

  • If you do not receive an email, check your spam folder or contact us

Your payment receipt serves as your proof of purchase.


8. Billing Information

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete billing information.

If your billing address does not match your card’s registered address, your payment may be declined. We will never store your full CVV or sensitive authentication data.
