Smooche began as a small studio with one mission: to redefine how the world sees cosmetics. That includes secure, transparent billing — no surprises.


1. Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods through our trusted, PCI-compliant processors (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify Payments):

Digital Wallets

  • Apple Pay

Only the payment methods shown at checkout are available for your order.


2. Currency & Pricing

All prices on smooche.us are displayed in United States Dollars (USD $) .

We do not charge any additional payment processing fees. The price you see at checkout is what you pay, plus applicable sales tax (see Section 3 below).


3. Sales Tax

Because our studio is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, we collect sales tax on orders shipped to Michigan and other US states where we have economic nexus.

Sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address.


4. Payment Processing & Security

  • SSL Encryption: Our entire website uses 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption.

  • No storage of full payment data: We never see or store your full credit card number, CVV, or PIN. All payment data goes directly to Stripe, PayPal, or Shopify Payments.

  • PCI DSS compliant: Our payment partners are fully compliant with Payment Card Industry security standards.

Your bank statement will show:
SMOOCHE STUDIO or SMOOCHE YPSILANTI — not a third party.


5. When You Are Charged

  • For in-stock items: Your payment method is charged immediately when you place your order.

  • For pre-orders: You are charged immediately to reserve your item (not at time of shipment).

  • Authorization holds: Some cards may show a temporary authorization hold, which drops off within 1–7 days.

Orders are only processed after payment is successfully confirmed.


6. Failed or Declined Transactions

If your payment is declined:

  1. Verify your card is activated for online purchases

  2. Ensure your billing address matches your card’s registered address

  3. Try a different payment method

  4. Contact your bank — sometimes they flag small studios as fraud

We will not automatically retry a declined payment without your permission.


7. Fraud Protection & Order Verification

We take fraud seriously. Smooche reserves the right to:

  • Cancel or hold any order that appears suspicious or potentially fraudulent

  • Request additional verification (e.g., photo ID, proof of address) before shipping

  • Refuse service to anyone engaged in fraudulent activity

If we contact you for verification, you will have 48 hours to respond. After that, the order will be canceled and refunded.


8. Billing Errors & Disputes

If you believe there is a billing error:

Contact us first before initiating a chargeback with your bank.

We will review and resolve legitimate billing issues within 3 business days.

Unauthorized chargebacks (where the product was delivered as described) may result in:

  • Permanent ban from smooche.us

  • Referral to collections (if goods were not returned)


9. Refunds & Credits

Refunds are processed according to our Refund & Return Policy:

  • Refunds go back to the original payment method

  • Processing time after we receive a return: 5–7 business days

  • Depending on your bank, refunds may take an additional 3–10 business days to appear

We do not issue cash refunds for gift purchases — only store credit or back to the original card.


10. Currency Conversion (International Orders)

For international customers:

  • You will be charged in USD ($)

  • Your bank or card issuer will convert to your local currency

  • Exchange rates and foreign transaction fees (if any) are set by your bank — we have no control over them and are not responsible
